Annette Funicello did not only sing or act, but was also an actor. She is best remembered as being one of the Mickey Mouse Club's original Mouseketeers. She began singing when she was a teenager, and later became known for the hit tracks "Tall Paul" as well as "Pineapple Princess." Born and raised in Utica and with Italian immigrant parents, Annette was a shy young girl. To make a name for herself in the entertainment business she started to perform and perform. Her fame grew in the 1950s when she played the role of "Mouseketeers". Annette's 'Disney persona was shed after she turned an adult and was able to play adult roles. Her most notable role was as the pioneer of the beach party genre. The films she appeared in included "Pajama Parties", 'How to Stuff a Wild Bikini', and 'Beach Party'. In addition, she was able to continue producing music albums. Annette was first diagnosed with MS in 1992. Annette passed away from the disease in 2013.
